Semas launches program for the Pará Pavilion during COP30
Meetings, panels, exhibitions, and debates on climate and sustainable development comprise more than 350 activities aimed at bringing together various sectors of society
The State Secretariat for Environment, Climate and Sustainability (Semas) has released the complete announcement with the program of selected events for the Pará Pavilion, which will operate from November 10 to 21 in Belém, during the world's largest climate change conference, COP30.
The program includes more than 350 activities, including meetings, panels, exhibitions, and debates on climate and sustainable development. The event will take place at the Parque da Cidade and will be the main space for Pará's representation in the Green Zone.
The announcement presents dates, times, and rooms where the activities will be held. The program was structured based on a selection process that prioritized initiatives aligned with the strategic axes of the Government of Pará for addressing climate change and valuing the living forest.
Articulation - The Pará Pavilion aims to bring together different sectors of society – local and subnational governments, the private sector, non-governmental organizations, indigenous peoples, quilombolas, traditional communities, youth, academia, and civil society in general – around the debate on concrete solutions to tackle the climate crisis, the valuation of the forest, and the promotion of inclusive and sustainable development models.
The environment will be a space for political, technical, and strategic articulation, offering opportunities for launching initiatives, disseminating research results, exchanging international experiences, and strengthening cooperation networks that point the way for the implementation of national and global climate commitments.
“The Pará Pavilion is a strategic instrument for articulation and projection of the State's leadership in the climate agenda. The program was structured to ensure thematic diversity and technical quality, bringing together actors who play a decisive role in building sustainable solutions. This will be a space for dialogue and cooperation, focused on the exchange of experiences and the consolidation of partnerships that can strengthen environmental and economic policies based on the living forest. Pará arrives at COP30 prepared to present concrete results, discuss pathways, and reaffirm its commitment to the transition to an inclusive and sustainable low-carbon green economy,” highlighted the State Secretary for Environment, Climate and Sustainability, Raul Protázio Romão.
Among the selected events, Semas will feature 23 of its own presentations focused on projects and initiatives for sustainable development. The complete program of the Pará Pavilion is available on the Semas website.
